How it behaves
The countdown reads the system clock rather than counting seconds, so if the tab gets throttled or the phone sleeps it is still right when you look. If you missed the end, it plays the finish tone as soon as the page is visible again.
The last three seconds tick. The end is a three-note chime and a vibration on phones that support it. The last length you used is remembered.
Questions people ask
- How do I set a custom time?
- Tap a preset or type minutes and seconds in the Custom field, then press Start. The last duration you used is remembered.
- Does it ring at the end?
- It plays a three-note finish tone and vibrates on phones that support it. Unmute with the speaker button if you turned sound off.
- Can I see the time left in the browser tab?
- Yes. The tab title counts down while the timer runs, so you can keep it in a background tab on desktop.
