What this one is for
An 8 minute timer lands on a lot of pasta boxes and a lot of ab routines. It is long enough to be a real set of work and short enough that you can hold form through it.
It is also the length of an eight minute ab circuit, a decent cold plunge build up, or a queue you are trying to sit through without checking your phone.
Press Space to start. The tab title counts down, the screen stays on, and it beeps when you are done.

How it runs
Counts down 8 min, then beeps. Press Start, or hit Space. The digits turn green while a work block runs and grey on rest.
Sound is on by default: a rising pair for work, a falling pair for rest, a tick for the last three seconds and a three-note finish. Mute with the speaker button. The screen stays on while the timer runs and the tab title shows the time left.
Change anything in Settings under the timer. The last setup you used on this page is remembered in your browser.
Questions people ask
- How do I start an 8 minute timer quickly?
- Open the page and press Space. It is preset to eight minutes, so nothing to configure.
- Will it still beep if I switch tabs?
- Yes in practice. The countdown is timestamp based so it cannot drift, and the beep plays while the tab stays open or as soon as you return.
- Can I change the duration?
- Yes, edit it on the timer or use another preset page like 9 or 10 minutes.
- Does it cost anything?
- No. It is free and there is no account.
