EMOM timer
This EMOM timer beeps at the start of every minute, on the minute. Set the interval and the total time, then work to the beep.
What is an EMOM workout?
EMOM means every minute on the minute. You begin a planned set at each minute's start and recover in the time left. It is a way to organise exercises, with predictable starts and a visible recovery budget.
It can suit a familiar task with a clear repetition target. If a task needs more time to learn or recover from, a longer interval or another structure may fit better. The EMOM explainer shows when this format is useful and how it differs from fixed work/rest periods.
The minute includes your recovery
Begin your planned set when the minute starts. If the set and reset take 25 seconds, you have 35 seconds before the next start. If they take 50 seconds, only ten remain. The clock fixes start times, not how much recovery you get.
Choose movements, repetitions and effort from an appropriate plan. If recovery disappears, adjust or stop rather than rushing. The EMOM guide compares this with fixed work/rest intervals.
Check how the blocks fit
Interval length uses seconds, from 15 to 300. Set 120 for every two minutes, or 90 for every ninety seconds. Total minutes sets the end of the whole session, from 1 to 99 minutes.
The last block is shortened when the total does not divide evenly. Ten minutes with ninety-second blocks gives six full blocks and one thirty-second block. Choose nine or twelve minutes if you want only complete ninety-second blocks.
Prepare the sequence
The timer counts blocks but does not announce exercise names. Write down any rotation first. A twelve-minute A/B/C rotation contains four sets of each task. Start begins the first block immediately.
Keep the page visible and test volume. Warning ticks occur in the last three seconds, then a cue marks the next block. A hidden page may miss sounds. Use Interval for fixed work/rest pairs or Tabata for the fixed 20/10 pattern.
Common questions
What does EMOM stand for?
Every Minute On the Minute. You start a set at the start of each minute and rest for the time that’s left.
Can I do E2MOM or every 90 seconds?
Yes. Set Interval length to 120 seconds for every 2 minutes, or 90 for every 90 seconds. Anything from 15 to 300 seconds works, and Total minutes goes from 1 to 99.
Does it warn me before the next minute?
Yes. It ticks for the last 3 seconds of each interval, then beeps as the next one starts.
