What this one is for
A 9 minute timer is the snooze button, a strange piece of history: it is nine because old mechanical clock gears could not comfortably fit ten, and the convention outlived the gears.
It is a fine length for a nap you do not want to slip into deep sleep, a pasta box that says nine, or three rounds of three minute work.
Space starts and pauses. The tab title shows the remaining time and a beep lands at zero.

How it runs
Counts down 9 min, then beeps. Press Start, or hit Space. The digits turn green while a work block runs and grey on rest.
Sound is on by default: a rising pair for work, a falling pair for rest, a tick for the last three seconds and a three-note finish. Mute with the speaker button. The screen stays on while the timer runs and the tab title shows the time left.
Change anything in Settings under the timer. The last setup you used on this page is remembered in your browser.

- Early mechanical alarm clocks used a fixed gear for the snooze interval, and the tooth count that fit landed just under ten minutes. The convention stuck.
